ABBIE OPERATIONS
Dr. David Aguilar
David obtained a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Arizona and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Aguilar is a former entrepreneur and has experience taking intellectual property from concept to patent assignment.
In addition to his technical background, Dr. Aguilar has trained at Stanford School of Business and has completed executive leadership training. Technical, business, and leadership background ensures operational procedures will be executed and delivered on time.
Dr. Tetsuya Kawamura
Dr. Kawamura brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, and cellular biology, further enhancing SOHM’s commitment to scientific excellence and innovation.
Dr. Kawamura is a distinguished life science professional with extensive experience in biochemistry, molecular, and cellular biology. He has a proven track record of developing new methods and utilizing various instruments for analytical characterization relevant to cell model creation, protein expression and purification, and DNA/RNA production. His productivity, problem-solving skills, and broad knowledge base make him a valuable asset to SOHM. Moreover, Dr. Kawamura has authored patents in gene editing technology, including the ABBIE technology. Dr. Kawamura has an extensive peer reviewed publication track record and will also support grant writing initiatives.
Dr. Kawamura holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Oregon, Eugene, and a B.S. in Music and Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Dr. Kawamura’s diverse academic background and professional experience will be instrumental in our advancement and commercialization of ABBIE gene editing technology
Alfred Gallegos
Alfred has over 35 years of research experience in the biosciences and 31 peer reviewed publications. He was trained by many excellent researchers at the University of Arizona with a focus on cancer research and novel drug discovery. His 35 year post at the University overlapped pharmacology and toxicology, biochemistry, cancer biology, and other areas of scientific research; which provided him with extensive cell culture expertise with emphasis on transfections and cellular transformations related to gene insertions.
He is knowledgeable in protocol development, and numerous essential techniques like immunohistochemistry, rtPCR, cloning, and various other essential skills in research.
His dedication to the advancement of science is demonstrated in his enduring and steady work ethic.
Baron Night
Mr. Night has Over 45 years of Banking, Pension Funds, Financial Administration, Economics, and Marketing experience dealing with the aspects involved in the formation and daily operation of Manufacturing, Insurance, Wholesale, Retail, and Entertainment businesses.
Mr. Night holds B.S. / M.S. Degrees in Finance/Economics from “C.S.U.-Long Beach.” Undergraduate Certificate in International Business.
Mr. Night has been an entertainer for almost 60 years. Personal appearances include television, radio, nightclubs, legitimate stage, and live concerts of up to 25,000. Has created, produced, directed, and/or performed in thousands of live shows.
His Community Involvement includes – Candidate for Trustee of B.P. Library District (2014), Past candidate for Buena Park City Council, Director on the “Buena Park Cable T.V. Foundation.”, Twenty year supporter of “Buena Park Boys and Girls Club.” Lifetime member of the “Buena Park Historical Society.”Past President of the “Rotary Club of Buena Park.” Ambassador-Buena Park Chamber of Commerce. Board Member and Treasurer “Buena Park Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast” Assisted Steve Berry (B.P. Council) with formation of Farmer’s Market. Sowmya Jacob
Introducing Sowmya Jacob, a versatile professional with a rich tapestry of experience spanning both corporate leadership and academia. With a solid educational foundation that includes an Economics Honours degree, a Diploma in Advertising and Marketing, a PGD in Operations Management, and an MBA majoring in Human Resources Management, Sowmya brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Over the past decade, she has navigated the corporate landscape with finesse, serving in pivotal roles as Head of Human Resources and Operations across companies of varying sizes. Her extensive experience has honed her skills in Strategic HR Management, Compliance and Legal, People Analytics and HR Metrics, Operational Excellence and Process Improvement, Technology Proficiency, HRIS Integration, Change Management, and Diversity Management.
In addition to her corporate endeavors, Sowmya is a dedicated Business Consultant, lending her expertise to a diverse range of industries including pharmaceuticals, construction, recruitment/talent management agencies, IT, and non-profits. Her strategic insights and innovative solutions have driven growth and efficiency for her clients.
Furthermore, as a Professor of Business, Sowmya is committed to nurturing the next generation of business leaders. She educates students in MBA and Post Graduate programs, instilling in them the knowledge, skills, and passion needed to excel in the dynamic world of business. Highly passionate and proactive, Sowmya is a firm believer in the power of women in business. Dr. Krishna Bhat
Dr. Bhat is an experienced bio scientist and cardiologist. He serves on the company’s Advisory Board as a Chief Medical Advisor.
Dr. Bhat has a cardiology practice of over 35 years in the field of Clinical and Interventional Cardiology. He is a recipient of the 2021 Hall of Fame Award from the American Heart Association, which states: “In recognition of your commitment to excellence in the field of Cardiovascular Care through your leadership as an outstanding physician, researcher, and educator.” Dr. Bhat also received the Miles Canada Fellowship Award and J. Louis Levesque Fellowship Award from Montreal Heart Institute, Montreal, Canada.
Dr. Bhat brings valuable experience and expertise in the field of cardiology, which will support our planned acquisition of ABBIE Technology and its innovative patents, clinical trials, diagnostic kits and cardiac treatments. Dr. Bhat is a renowned Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist who has authored over 16 medical scientific publications.
Joseph P Jackson III
Joseph P Jackson III is an entrepreneur, angel investor, and activist in the “Open Science Movement.” He has been studying the rise of new open innovation models since 2000, when the arrival of Napster prompted him to think radically about the economics of sharing in the digital era. He is a graduate of Harvard College (2004) and the London School of Economics (2005). As an entrepreneur and angel investor, he has focused on the convergence of biotechnology and information technology. His mission is to enable the emergence of a new era of entrepreneurship by democratizing access to technology and distributing it so that small innovators can leverage it to have large impacts. He relocated to Carlsbad in January 2013 to oversee the launch of the Bio, Tech, and Beyond community lab incubator. Since then he has hosted and helped more than 70 early stage life science companies at the lab.
